Damen Dredging World Headquarters in Nijkerk was honored to receive Her Excellency Anne van Leeuwen, the new Netherlands Ambassador to Bangladesh, who will take up her new post in Dhaka, Bangladesh next month.

The Ambassador was there on a fact-finding mission to learn about dredging, including the latest technology currently in use, as well as the training and other services that Damen provides to its clients. Damen has a long history of dredging in Bangladesh – a vital activity in a country which is the exit point of the Ganges, the third largest river in the world, and where two-thirds of the area is less than five meters above. from sea level. During his visit, Ambassador Van Leeuwen expressed his gratitude both for the Dutch shipping companies supporting the Delta 2100 strategic economic and environmental plan launched by the Government of Bangladesh in 2018, and the positive contribution made by Damen Shipyards to the country over the years.
